Key learning areas

All planned learning activities at school occur within Key Learning

Areas (KLAs).  The Religious Education syllabus has been developed
by the Catholic Schools Office (Diocese of Broken Bay) and syllabus
documents for the other KLAs have been developed by the NSW Board
of Studies:

• Religious Education
• English
• Mathematics
• Science and Technology
• Human Society and Its Environment
• Creative and Practical Arts (including Visual Arts, Music, Drama and Dance)
• Personal Development, Health and Physical Education.

Teachers at St Mary’s provide students with opportunities to learn in more than one KLA at a time and this integrated approach to teaching and learning provides a rich context for the development of knowledge, skills, values and attitudes.
