Virtual Tour
The Year 6 School Leaders have developed the virtual school tour below. If you would like to take a personal tour of the school – please contact the Principal, Mr Paul Furlong on (02) 9977 2225.
This is our school office. This is where the Principal works and the teachers have their lunch, it is also where you can collect an enrolment form or ask our friendly staff about our school.
Now were going upstairs to the classrooms. Our classrooms are always busy, full of displays showing our interesting integrated unit topics as well as work from all areas of learning. We have an afternoon each term so that parents can come and enjoy their childs work.
We can also access our class work from home, as well as exciting games and activities through websites our teachers set up on CENet.
We are now moving onto the playgrounds. We have 3 playgrounds: the quiet playground is for chatting with friends from different classes or buddies under the big tree
The K-Y2 playground is for active kids and is an excellent area to play handball and lots of fun games.
The Y3-Y6 playground a large area for running around and playing cricket, rugby, tag, and hide and seek.
Leaving the classrooms and moving onto the junior and senior libraries. The senior library is for Y3-Y6 and the junior library is for K-Y2. We also have Monday lunchtimes to go the library and maybe read or play chess or use the computers.
We are moving on into the hall, which is used for sport and extra-curricular activities, as well as speech and drama exams, book week parades and grandparents day. The hall is a terrific space for participating in fitness or music classes.
Here at St Marys, we have fun school events, including discos, the annual walkathon and book week. Some of these events raise money for charities, to help others around our local community or from across the world. In our school we have project compassion boxes during Lent that help raise money for Caritas Australia. Our year 6 social justice councillors, also promote other good causes through the year.
We celebrate sports through our swimming carnival and athletics carnival, as well as special gala days and peninsula carnivals. We have three colour-house teams: red, blue and green. We love to represent our teams and do lots of cheering! Its always fun to race against your friends and other friendly people. The school has some fantastic athletes who have the opportunity to participate in inter-school competitions in swimming, running, long jump, shot put and cross country.
